BOLLYWOOD EXTRAVAGANZA with Sonia Mumtaz

Offering an exciting extension of classes, Bollywood Extravaganza will focus on the centrality of emotion in Indian Dance. Exploring the content of the lyrics of a piece of music, the workshop will promote awareness of the expressive aspects and storytelling qualities in Indian Music & Dance. Splitting into 2 groups and allowing for individual choreography around the themes, the workshop will culminate in an informal showing of the dance pieces developed.
Open to beginners and regular participants alike, come along and discover why Bollywood Dance is about far more than just learning sequences!
FLAMENCO FUNDAMENTALS with Omega la Mariposa
Sunday 24th June
— Session 1: 2.30pm - 4.00pm
Aimed at those always wanting to try Flamenco and beginners with some experience exploring a section of the celebratory dance Alegrias. Focusing on Flamenco fundamentals (including the language of rhythm, expression and basic footwork) the session is designed to equip participants with essential Flamenco building blocks.
— Session 2: 4.30pm - 6.00pm
Aimed at those with extended Flamenco technique the session will look at both the Silenciao (slow section - deeper body work) plus faster, more intricate footworks along with the utilisation of dance dynamics in expression.
Each session £5 / £4.50 concs.
